Mark John Groskreutz died at the age of 62 on Sept. 11, 2026 at the New Richland Care Center after a courageous battle with cancer.  A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Nasinec Funeral Home (789 Business Park Drive, Wells, MN 56097).  Visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, starting at 9:30 am until 11:00 am.  Burial will be in St. Paul’s Evangelical Cemetery, Vivian Twp., Waseca Co., MN.  Please see nasinecfh.com to leave online condolences for the family.
Mark was born Dec. 23, 1963 the son of John and Betty (Knudson) Groskreutz.  Mark was the 4th of 6 children and he grew up living on a farm near Waldorf.  He graduated from Waldorf-Pemberton High School in 1982.
Mark was united in marriage to Melissa (Missy) Glackin August 31, 1991.  The couple made their home on a farm only a mile from where Mark grew up.  The couple celebrated their 35th anniversary shortly before his death.  Mark and Missy have one biological daughter, Amy, and two foreign exchange student daughters, Kathrin and Greta, whom he loved dearly.
Mark farmed and had a tiling business.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, motorcycling, 4-wheeling, camping, and spending time with family and friends.
Mark was good with his hands, he could repair most issues on his farm equipment or do his own construction work, whether it was to build buildings or do home remodeling.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Missy; daughter Amy (husband Ben) McMahon, honorary daughters, Kathrin (Lars) Mueller and Greta Stangner; sister Susan (Chuck) Geariety, brothers Robert (Michele) Groskreutz and LaVerne Groskreutz; his mother Betty Groskreutz, mother-in-law, Alice Glackin; in-laws: Lori (Jim) Longmore, Judy (Ken) Cuddy, Doug (Carol) Glackin, Jim (Penny) Glackin, and Lynne Glackin (Alan Ahrenholtz), along with numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
