Glen John Samuelson
Glen Samuelson, age 97, of Mapleton, left his earthly home on August 1, 2026 at the Mapleton Community Home. 
Memorial Service will be held on August 24th at 11:00 a.m. at United Church of Mapleton with visitation from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at church.  Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Mapleton.
Glen was born on July 27, 1929 to Emil and Mary (Rue) Samuelson.  He graduated from Mapleton High School.  On December 15, 1950, Glen was united in marriage to Alberta Roth.  They resided in Mapleton for 8 years, moved to Lake Crystal for 7 years, and then moved back to Mapleton for 61 years.  They were blessed with 6 children. 
Glen farmed and worked for Honeymead for over 30 years before retiring in 1991.  He worked various other jobs after retirement. He enjoyed jigsaw and crossword puzzles, fishing and camping with family, and he worked on many woodworking projects over the years.  He loved spending time with his family.
Glen is survived by his children, Mike Samuelson (Jan), Kathy Abbott, Trish Weber (Tom), Joe Samuelson (Sheila), Chris Forsyth (Ron), and Tom Samuelson (Barb); grandchildren, Justin (Amanda), Darci (Brian), Meghan (Tim), Bri (Phil), Jonathan (Katlyn), Laura, Kari (Scott), Matt (Michelle), Sarah, Luke (Andrea), Jesseah (Lee), Gabe (Samantha), Myrrhiah (Kyle), Bri (Ryan), and Chase; 26 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law and best friend, Willis Ward; and sister-in-law, Eleanor Roth.  He was preceded in death by his wife Alberta, his parents and 2 sisters, Jean and Rolane. 
Glen’s love, life, and legacy will be cherished by all of his family.
