NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING & PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING

YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that a Public Hearing and Planning Commission Meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 beginning at 6:30 PM in the Council Chambers of the Lembke Building to accept comments and vote upon a Conditional Use Permit as requested by PB LLC.
PB LLC proposes to allow a tenant to conduct an Auto Recycling business at its property at 855 State Hwy 22.  The City of Minnesota Lake Zoning Ordinance Sections 1007, subd. 4; 1015, subd. 4 that state such an automobile salvage business in the B-1 highway commercial district is not a permitted use. Additionally, Section 1015, subd. 5 of the City Code further requires certain fencing requirements and that storage of auto parts and/or vehicles to be salvaged on site must be within an enclosed building.
This notice is sent and published in accordance with the City Code of Ordinances to provide residents the opportunity to offer opinions regarding the proposed project, either written format or in person should they desire.

It is Ordered and Notice is given that on  June 10, 2026 at  9:00 AM, a hearing will be held in this Court at Blue Earth County Justice Center, 401 Carver Road, Mankato, Minnesota via Zoom, on a petition for the adjudication of intestacy and determination of Decedent’s heirs, and for the appointment of Ashley Ryan, whose address is 313 Inverness Drive, Mankato, MN 56001, as Personal Representative of the Estate of the Decedent in an unsupervised administration.

Any objections to the petition must be raised at the hearing or filed with the Court prior to the hearing. If the petition is proper and no objections are filed or raised, the personal representative will be appointed with the full power to administer the Decedent’s estate, including the power to collect all assets; to pay all legal debts, claims, taxes, and expenses; to sell real and personal property; and to do all necessary acts for the Decedent’s estate.

Notice is further given that, subject to Minn. Stat. § 524.3-801, all creditors having claims against the Decedent’s estate are required to present the claims to the personal representative or to the Court within four (4) months after the date of this notice or the claims will be barred.

Blue Earth County Board Summary
The Blue Earth County Board meeting was held Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in the Blue Earth County Courthouse, Commissioners’ Room, was attended by Commissioners Kip Bruender, Patty O’Connor, Kevin Paap, Mark Piepho and Vance Stuehrenberg.  Also present were County Administrator Bob Meyer, County Attorney Pat McDermott, and Administrative Assistant Stephanie Jahnke.

Commissioners voted 5-0, unless otherwise noted:

• Approve an Interim Use Permit to operate lawn care business (Le Ray Township).
• Approve the findings and order setting the acceptance hearing for Judicial Ditch 15 (Lincoln Township). 
• Approve the findings and order setting the final hearing for Judicial Ditch 33 (McPherson Township). 
• Approve the findings and order setting the redetermination of benefits hearing for County Ditch 64 (Sterling Township). 
• Approve the amendment to the County Ditch 86 lateral and improvement interest rate.

MINUTES OF THE SCHOOL BOARD MEETING 
Monday, April 13, 2026
Maple River School, Board Room

The Maple River school board meeting was called to order at 6 p.m.  Members present were Joe Sohre, Dan Sohre, Karson Duncanson, Julie Lux, Andrea Sonnek, Noah Germo, Tyler Hunstad, Business Manager Heine, and Superintendent Anderson.  Also attending were Dusty Drager, Activities and Community Education Director, Jessica Braaten, Teacher, Minnesota Educators Association, Steve Shute, Maple River Messenger, and Brian Sader 

The pledge of allegiance was recited.
A motion was made by Tyler Hunstad to approve the agenda/additions. 

Seconded by Joe Sohre. Motion carried.

Community Comment:  
Steve Shutte reported that he is working with KEYC to bring a weather station to campus, which would allow the district to be included in local weather reporting. He will continue to provide updates to the board as the project progresses. He also provided some comments about the sales of school sites. 
Motion was made by Joe Sohre to correct/approve the Minutes of March 9, 2026, School Board Meeting.   Seconded by Tyler Hunstad. Motion carried.

Motion was made by Tyler Hunstad to approve the bills in the amount of $1,338,780.74. Seconded by Noah Germo. Motion carried. 

Motion made by Noah Germo to approve the treasurer’s report.  Seconded by Julie Lux.  Motion carried.

Board Report: Dusty Drager, Community Education and Activities Director, reported that the Winter sports went well and that the faculty were very busy. The Girls Basketball team made it to the 2AA semifinals for the first time since 2009. The Boys Basketball team hosted the play-off game. The Once Act play went to the sub-sections. For Spring, 61% of the student body is participating. Discussed onboarding to Bound our new activity scheduling software. He talked about the Community Education classes offered and the new Archery Camp. The Robotics Team finished in Fourth place.  

Motion was made by Tyler Hunstad to approve Extended Summer School Session and Staffing.  Seconded by Julie Lux.  Motion carried.

Resolution 05-26 Nonrenewing a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Teacher
Tyler Hunstad introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
WHEREAS, Lincoln Arndt is a TIER 1 / TIER 2 teacher in Independent District No. 2135.
 BE IT RESOLVED, by the School Board of Independent District No. 2135 that the teaching contract of Lincoln Arndt, a TIER 1 / TIER 2 teacher in Independent School District No. 2135,  shall be nonrenewed at the end of the 2025–2026 school year, effective June 30, 2026; and
 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that written notice be sent to said teacher regarding the nonrenewal of the teacher’s teaching contract.

Motion made by Noah Germo to approve Life Insurance renewal rates from National Insurance Services. Seconded by Julie Lux. Motion carried.

Motion made by Noah Germo to approve the Long Term Disability Insurance renewal rates from National Insurance Services. Seconded by Andrea Sonnek. Motion carried.

Due to the severe weather warning, it was decided that the Budget Discussion be moved to May’s meeting agenda.

Motion made by Julie Lux to approve an Agreement to Extend Probationary Period. Seconded by Tyler Hunstad. Motion carried.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council will hold a Public Hearing for the City of Mapleton’s proposed Domesticated Miniature Vietnamese Pot-Bellied Pigs Ordinance and Administrative Lot Split and Combination Process Ordinance.  The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at the Mapleton Fire Station, 103 3rd Avenue N.E., Mapleton, MN. This meeting is open to all interested citizens. A copy of the proposed ordinances is available at Mapleton City Hall.

SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE #34 FOR PUBLICATION
On May 4, 2026, the Amboy City Council adopted an ordinance to be able to enforce administrative offenses. The ordinance will allow the city to fine residents that are in violation of ordinances related to traffic, parking, recreational vehicles, fire prevention, streets, sidewalks, nuisances, animals, liquor, tobacco, peddler, and caimabis. The ordinance will allow fines to be given to residents and if the fines are not paid, they will be assessed to the property owners’ taxes.
This ordinance will take effect on publication in Maple River Messenger on May 21, 2026.
