Sharon Louise Vogelsang

Sharon Louise Vogelsang, age 71, Wells, Minn., died on March 25, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Peace UCC Church in Minnesota Lake, Minn., with Pastor Joy Bruder officiating. Visitation will be Friday, March 31, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells, Minn., and continuing for one hour prior to the service at church (10 to 11 a.m.). Interment will be in Peace UCC Cemetery in Minnesota Lake, Minn. Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells is entrusted with arrangements. Please see www.nasinecfh. com to leave online condolences. Sharon Louise was born Oct. 21, 1951, in Wells, Minn., a daughter to Burnell and Neva Joy (Shuck) Hamann. She graduated from Minnesota Lake High School, the class of 1969 and continued her education at Minnesota State University- Mankato, graduating with a degree in education. She was a teacher for Head Start, ECFE, preschool, and was a substitute teacher at area schools. Sharon was united in marriage to Richard M. Vogelsang Jan. 15, 1972, in Minnesota Lake at Peace UCC Church. She was an active member in the American Legion Auxiliary of Minnesota Lake. She made many quilts for veterans and served as an officer for many years. Sharon had many roles at Peace UCC as a Sunday School teacher, church council member and as a part of the Women’s Guild. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and sewing, playing cards and games, campfires, and chickens. Sharon especially loved horses and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Richard Vogelsang of Wells, Minn.; children: Michael Vogelsang of Minnesota Lake, Minn., and Jayne Kalis of Blue Earth, Minn.; grand - children: Haley and Kaden Kalis; mother Neva Joy Hamann of Mapleton, Minn.; siblings: Nancy (Allan) Miller of Owatonna, Minn., David (Judy) Hamann of Cheyenne, Wy., Doug Hamann of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Chris (Craig) Schroader of Minnesota Lake, Minn.; sisters-in- law: Elaine Wallace of Albert Lea, Minn., Audrey Bruegger (John) of New Richland, Minn.; brother-in- law Loren (Kristin) Vogelsang of Wells, Minn.; cousin and BFF Wanda Watson of Norco, Calif., along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Burnell Hamann; mother and father-in-law Grace and Milton Vogelsang; and infant brother, Gary Joe.
