Brian Johnson
Brian J. Johnson age 71 of Good Thunder, MN died unexpectedly Friday, December 26, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family. A memorial service was held, Friday, January 2, 2026 at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells, MN. Pastor Hilary Korynta officiated. Please see nasinecfh.com to leave online condolences.
Brian Joel was born November 13, 1954 to Forrest and Patricia (Nowicki) Johnson in Blue Earth, MN and grew up on the family farm in Easton, MN alongside his siblings. Those early years shaped the man he became — hardworking, loyal, steady, and deeply devoted to family. He later made his home in Good Thunder, MN, where he lived until his passing.
He graduated from Delavan High School in 1973, where his love for sports, especially wrestling and football, began. He went on to earn a one-year degree in auto mechanics from Mankato Area Vocational Technical Institute in 1974, a trade that suited his hands-on nature and problem-solving mind.
Brian spent many years working as a custom applicator for Lawn Pro and WFS, and later as a van driver for Palmer Bus Service. He took pride in his work and believed strongly in showing up, working hard, and doing things the right way.
Brian found joy in both the outdoors and in simple, everyday moments — trapping, ice fishing, deer hunting at the family farm, bird watching, kayaking, gardening, caring for his lawn, and working on small engines. He also enjoyed sitting in his garage watching sports, observing the happenings of the neighborhood, and visiting with friends, family, and neighbors. These moments of connection and quiet observation brought him great contentment.
To his daughters, Brian was a steady presence — dependable, supportive, and deeply invested in their lives. He was a true family man who valued time together, showed his love through actions rather than words, and took great pride in the people his family became. His devotion to family was constant and unwavering.
As a grandfather, Brian’s heart was fully invested. He rarely missed a game, match, or activity. Whether standing along the sidelines or sitting in the stands, he could always be found cheering them on, his pride unmistakable. Being present for his grandchildren was one of the greatest joys of his life.
Throughout his life, Brian faced numerous health challenges. He met them with resilience, determination, and quiet strength, continuing to show up for his family with courage until the very end.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Doug Johnson and sister Patti Stolz.
Brian is survived by his children: Brandi (Keen) Roeker, Brooke (Philip) Nienow and Brianna Johnson; his cherished grandchildren: Kinlee, Mathew, Katelynn, Hope, Brynn, Krue, Briggs, Brezlyn, Brooklyn and Ryker; siblings: Mike (Marlene) Johnson and Pam (Mark) Braunshausen; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Brian will be remembered for the love he gave so faithfully, the strength he carried quietly, and the deep pride he felt for his family. He was deeply loved as a father and grandfather, and his presence will be missed beyond words.
