Elenora Behnke, 100

Elenora Behnke, age 100, died on July 31, 2025 at the Mapleton Community Home.
Funeral Service were held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Good Thunder. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Good Thunder.  Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Elenora was born on April 9, 1925 in Sterling Township to Arthur and Elsie (Rathke) Proehl.  She was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church in Mapleton and confirmed on June 25, 1939.  On September 19, 1945, Elenora was united in marriage to Walter Behnke.  She was a homemaker until she later did cleaning services for over 23 years for families that became were very special to her.  Elenora was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Good Thunder and a member of their ladies aid.  She enjoyed gardening, needle point, and relaxing at the lake with her family. 
Elenora is survived by her daughter, Diane (Loren) Sohre; 4 grandchildren, Mike Sohre, Matt (Kelly) Sohre, Melissa (Colby) Winkler, and Shawn Ennis; and 10 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter; son, Gary; and three siblings, Lorraine Ford, Luverne Proehl, and Caroline Wiebold.
