City of Good Thunder Ordinance No. 25-01

Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Good Thunder, Minnesota, at its regular meeting held on Monday, July 14, 2025, adopted the following ordinances:

City of Good Thunder
This ordinance amends Section 34.01 (Fee Schedule) of the Good Thunder City Code.
The key provisions are as follows:
1. Annual Fee Adjustments: The City Council will annually set and adjust compensation and fees at the first council meeting in January. Fees may also be modified by resolution throughout the year.
2. Compensation of City Officials:
o City Clerk, Police Department, Street Department, and other staff compensation will be based on the budget.
o Election judges' compensation will be set annually in the fee schedule.
o Fire Department compensation for the Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, and Volunteer Firefighters will be set at the first council meeting each year,  with proposed changes submitted by July 1 of the prior year.
3. Mayor and City Council Compensation:
o Compensation may only increase after the next council election.
o  Any decrease in pay can take effect immediately.
4. Municipal Utility Fees:
o The City will establish rates for utilities, including sewer and water, and may charge late fees or returned check fees. Interest on delinquent accounts cannot exceed 18% annually.
5.Business License Fees:
o Fees for business licenses will be set annually by the City Council.
6.Liquor and Beer License Fees:
o Fees for various alcohol-related licenses, including consumption and display permits, will be set by the City Council.
7. Cannabis Business Registration:
o Businesses licensed by the Minnesota Office of Cannabis will pay a fee set by the City Council.
8. Maintenance Fees:
o Maintenance fees will be set by the City Council.
9. City Hall Rental Fees:
o The City Council will set rental and damage deposit fees for using City Hall.
10. Concession Stand Rental Fees:
• The City Council will set rental and damage deposit fees for city-owned concession stands.
11. Zoning and Subdivision Fees:
 • Fees for conditional use permits, plats, variances, amendments, and permits will be set by the City Council, along with any expenses for meetings/publications related to zoning and subdivision requests.
12. Miscellaneous Fees:
• Other fees may be set by the City Council by resolution.
The ordinance will take effect after its passage and publication in accordance with the law.
The full text of the ordinance is available for public inspection at Good Thunder City Hall, located at 130 S. Ewing St, during regular business hours. It may also be viewed on the city’s official website at www.goodthundermn.gov. These ordinances shall take effect upon publication, or as otherwise provided by law.
