Blue Earth County Board Summary

The Blue Earth County Board meeting was held Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. in the Blue Earth County Historic Courthouse, Commissioners’ Room, was attended by Commissioners Kip Bruender, Patty O’Connor, Mark Piepho and Vance Stuehrenberg. Also, present were County Administrator Bob Meyer, County Attorney Division Chief Megan Gaudette Coryell, and Administrative Assistant Stephanie Jahnke.

Commissioners voted 4-0, unless otherwise noted:

Approve a resolution to Kristen L. Friedrichs and Joseph Friedrichs for a final plat of Friedrichs Farms, (Vernon Center Township).

Approve a resolution to Darren Kaisersatt for an interim use permit to operate a motorcycle repair business and meditation classes twice monthly as a Level II Home Occupation (Decoria Township).

Approve a resolution to David and Amy Orcutt for the preliminary plat of Fair Acres (Jamestown Township).

Approve a resolution to Derek & Sarah Olson for an interim use permit to allow for an elder care dwelling as an accessory use to an existing single family building site (LeRay Township).

Approve a resolution to Dan Anderson for an interim use permit to operate a reception/banquet/meeting facility (Lyra Township).

Approve a resolution to Blue Earth -Nicollet-Faribault Cooperative Electric Association for a conditional use permit to construct and operate a wireless communications tower (South Bend Township).

Approve an ordinance amendment to the Chapter 24-Zoning of the Blue Earth County Code of Ordinances.

Approve the Findings and Order setting the hearing for Judicial Ditch 15 for July 30, 2024 at 9:00a.m.

Accept the low bid from Noomen Excavating for the County Ditch 25 repairs.

Approve the Human Services items as presented.

Approve the June 11, 2024, Board Minutes.

Approve the bills as presented.

Authorize the recruitment for an Office Coordinator- Human Services.

Approve an off-site gambling permit to Waseca Hockey Association.

Approve an exempt gambling permit to the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association Bend of the River Chapter.

Approve the renewal of the joint powers agreement with the State of Minnesota for the Minnesota Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Approve a resolution for Blue Earth County to be named as a defendant in a class action suite related to properties that had forfeited to the State for nonpayment of taxes.
